PERFECT BEARSVILLE STREAM CHARM, WALK TO THEATER
"ARTIST HOME, ARBORETUM PRESERVE" 2 BR, 1 BA Maximum Occupancy:5
3248 Rt 212
Bearsville, NY 12409 WOODSTOCK REGION
Description:
This house is truely charming. It is a 100-year old Woodstock hand-built, pine-board classic, nestled in a Magnificent Grove of Sycamore, Birch, Pine and Tall Oaks. The Trees are so tall and old that people have often referred to these protected 4 acres as a natural preserve.
This property is truely unique in its location. A walk through the woods in total privacy, will put you at the base of a mountain at a large natural stone patio on the stream. Only the sound of the water will surround your conversation. A lovely place for a picnic, sunning and cooling off.
At the front of the property is the country County Road that is the Bus route to NY city. It is so easy and convinent! If you find you want to go into the city but don't want to drive, have a glass of wine, hop on the bus for a nap and wake up in Midtown Manhatten.
Don't want to drive? Just a short walk, about 3 city blocks, up the stream and you will be enjoying 5-Star cuisine at The Bear Cafe. Eat outdoors or sit next to the glass wall above the very stream you enjoyed your lunch at, back at home. The Little Bear, just next door and also on the stream, has fine Chinese food. After what you will agree is great ambiance and fine dining, you can make your way next door to the Bearsville Theater for entertainment. They ofen have big-name acts. After a little moonlight meander, you are back home in your cozy bed.
So much is so close. It is just a 2-minute drive east to the center of Woodstock, the famed "Colony of the Arts." Boutiques, resturants, antiques, Art Galleries and more entertainment give one much to do. Just 2 miles west is the Catskills' most beautiful, best kept secret, the Magnificent Cooper Lake. Catching a peaceful sunset here, with its lovely mountain views, is a must.
If you want to take part in the water activities, the Esopus River is a fun time tubing, trout fishing, and canoeing. Of course, Belleayre and Hunter are near by and offer the best of Skiing in the area.
Enjoy the heart of NY State's finest country culture from your cozy stay in Bearsville.
